Department of Biotechnology, REGIONAL CENTRE OF INSTITUTE OF BIORESOURCES AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The Regional Centre of Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (RCIBSD) is established under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in order to utilize the rich bioresources including plants, animals and microbial resources of the Sikkim Himalayas through scientific interventions for economic benefit of the region.
The following ad-hoc positions are available under the different research program of RCIBSD, Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. Dully filled in application on prescribed format available at the Institute’s website (www.ibsd.gov.in) and at the office of RCIBSD, Gangtok may be submitted along with attested copies of certificate/testimonials in support of age and educational qualifications with a passport size photograph to The Officer on Special Duty, Regional Centre of IBSD, 5th Mile, Tadong, Gangtok- 737102 during Office hour on or before 3rd February, 2012. Application to be superscript “Application for the post of ……” The short listed candidates will be intimated for interview. The selection procedure will be strictly adhered to Govt. of India norms.
Project Assistant – [Molecular Biology Lab](01)
Emoluments (Consolidated): Rs. 12,000/- per month
Essential:
M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Botany/ Biochemistry.
1. Working experience in Molecular Biology techniques.
2. Knowledge of Computer Application
Desirable:
1. Survey and collection of specimen
2.To assist lab work related to molecular biology
Age limit: 28 yrs
2. Project Assistant – [Plant Biotech Lab] (01)
Emoluments (Consolidated): Rs.12,000/- per month
Essential:
M.Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Agriculture.
1. Working experience in Plant tissue Culture.
Desirable:
1. Survey and collection of specimen
2. To assist in laboratory work.
Age limit: 28 yrs
3. Project Assistant – [Bioinformatics] (01)
Emoluments (Consolidated): Rs.12,000/- per month
Essential:
M.Sc. in Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology/ Environmental Science/Life Science/Computer Science.
1. Working experience on bioinformatics tools.
2. Knowledge on computer languages C, HTML, Java, Perl, mySQL, PHP, Oracle, VB, WebServer.
Desirable:
1. Documentation of biodiversity data
2. Survey and collection of specimen
2. To assist in computer related work.
Age limit: 28 yrs
The above positions are purely on temporary basis. The selected candidates should not claim for regular appointment either to IBSD, RCIBSD, Sikkim or DBT, New Delhi. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The age of the candidates shall be considered as on 3rd February, 2012. The competent authority reserves all right to cancel the appointment at any stage without specifying any reason. The Institute reserves the right to engage any person for any position, if found suitable, even if he/she has not applied for the position. Merely fulfilling of the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience will not vest any right on a candidate for being called for interview.
