University of Hyderabad Centre for Earth & Space Sciences Dr. K. L. Rao Chair Professor in Geospatial Sciences
sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India
Nominations of eminent scientists/academicians are invited for “Dr. K.L. Rao Chair Professor” in the application of geospatial sciences for water resources development and management, and climate change. Nominees must have contributed significantly in the field of water resources and climate change research. The Chair Professor carries an honorarium of Rs. 50,000/- per month and basic facilities for carrying out research at the Centre for Earth & Space Sciences, University of Hyderabad. Scientists from civil engineering, hydrological sciences, earth sciences, environmental sciences in relation to climate change are eligible for nomination. Scientists, who are on sabbatical leave, will also be considered for the Chair Professorship.
Applications are invited for 2 JRF positions under the same scheme. The fellowship will carry an amount of Rs. 16000/- per month + HRA as per DST/CSIR regulations. Candidates with B.Tech/M.Tech in Civil Engineering, M.Sc in Physics/Earth Sciences/Environmental Sciences are eligible. Knowledge in remote sensing, GIS applications, modeling etc., particularly in water resources, is essential.
