Job Description	BHARAT SANCHAR NIGAM LIMITED (A Government of India Enterprise) CHENNAI TELEPHONES Direct recruitment in the cadre of TTAs in BSNL-Recruitment year 2008 Notification for Examination Applications on A4 size Xerox paper in the prescribed proforma given below are invited from the candidates belonging to Chennai, Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur Districts for the post of Telecom Technical Assistant (TTA) in the scale of pay of Rs. 7100-200-10100 + allowances as applicable as per Rules. Vacancies/Reservations: No. of vacancies to be filled up in Chennai Telephones & Chengalpattu SSA given below is tentative & likely to be increased. Elgiible Candidates for recruitment of 151 posts (Chennai Telephones - 122, Chengalpattu SSA-29) of Telecom Technical Assistants (TTA) by BSNL Chennai Eligibility Criteria: Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years as on 15.11.2008(i.e. last date of receipt of application). The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. The age relaxation for BSNL employees is upto 40 years for OC & 45 years for SC/ST and upto 43 years for OBC candidates as per Rules. Ex-Servicemen are eligible for relaxation in age limit as per Rules. The upper age limit for PH candidates is relaxable upto 10 years for OC, 15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC. SC/ST/OBC candidates should enclose attested copies of community certificates issued by the competent authority for availing age relaxation. Registration in the Employment Exchange: There is no restriction of residence or essential condition of registration with the Employment Exchange in the particular SSA. In case two or more successful candidates show equal performance in the test and have same qualification, experience, date of birth etc, preference will be given to those candidates who have registered their names in the Employment Exchange of the concerned SSA in which they have applied. Method of Selection: (1) Candidates will be selected as Telecom Technical Assistant through a Competitive examination which is to be held on 11.01.2009 followed by a Medical Test. The selected candidates shall have to execute a bond for a period of two (2) years from the date of appointment as Telecom Technical Assistant in the proforma as specified by the BSNL CO. The selected candidates, before their appointment as Telecom Technical Assistant have to undergo the prescribed course of training in Telecom Training Centres of BSNL. Examination fee : Rs. 500/-(Rupees Five hundred only) in the form of Bank Draft from a Nationalized Bank or Indian Postal Order from any Post Office drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer(C & A), HQ Zone, BSNL, Chennai Telephones” payable at Chennai in a single draft/ Postal Order. FEES ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED AT ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from examination fee provided they should have enclosed necessary community/Medical certificates.
Education	Three years Engineering Diploma in : Telecommunications Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Radio Engineering / Computer Engineering / Instruments Technology/ Information Technology/ M.Sc (Electronics) from a recognized institute /university.
