Staff Selection Commission (SSC) CHSL Examination 2026

The Staff Selection Commission invites online applications for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026 to fill vacancies for Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO) in various Ministries, Departments, and Constitutional Offices of the Government of India.

Cadres & Pay Levels:

Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (₹19,900 - ₹63,200).
Data Entry Operator (DEO) / DEO Grade 'A': Pay Level-4 (₹25,500 - ₹81,100) and Pay Level-5 (₹29,200 - ₹92,300).
Total Openings: Approximately 4,200 vacancies across Central Ministries.

Eligibility & Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 12th Standard (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized Board or University. For DEO in CAG offices, 12th Standard in Science stream with Mathematics is mandatory.
Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as of 1st January. Permissible age relaxation: SC/ST (5 yrs), OBC (3 yrs), PwBD (10 yrs).
Typing Speed: English typing 35 wpm or Hindi typing 30 wpm for LDC/JSA; 8,000 key depressions per hour for DEO.

Examination Pattern (Tier-I & Tier-II):

Tier-I (CBT): English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness (100 questions, 200 marks, 60 minutes). Negative marking: 0.50 per wrong response.
Tier-II: Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge Module, and Skill Test/Typing Test.
