Double Scholarships for National Talent search exam (NTSE)

2019 on-wards the NTSE scholarships will be awarded to 2000 meritorious students as per the new notification from NCERT. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced the enhancement of scholarships from 1000 to 2000 i.e double the previous scholarships. The amount for scholarship was also increased last year in 2018.

The scholarship under the present scheme awarded to the candidates for pursuing courses in science and social science up to doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine and engineering up to second-degree level subject to the fulfillment of the conditions provided in this brochure.

A total of 2000 scholarships will be awarded in the country with reservation of 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 27% for other backward classes (OBC) and 4% for group of students with benchmark disabilities, as per NCERT


The National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) is held in two levels-state level (stage 1) and national level (stage 2).


Stage 1: In the stage 1, exam is held on the first Sunday of November except in Nagaland, Andaman and Nicobar Island, Meghalaya and Mizoram where it is held on first Saturday of November. The exam includes mental ability test and scholastic aptitude test. There is no negative working.


Stage 2: In the Second stage exam, the exam is held on 2nd Sunday of May. Applicants who qualify in the 1st stage exam are eligible to appear in this 2nd stage exam. 2nd Stage exam is held in Kannada Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Assamiya, Bangla, English, Urdu, Hindi, Odia, Marathi, Punjabi languages.
